What Caregivers Are Saying
The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers is the perfect book for
caregivers who need hope and refreshment. Because of my time limitations
this book, filled with short stories and appropriate scriptures
and quotations, is exactly what I need. I love how the author
takes a story and makes it so beautiful. I am moved to tears, yet
I still
smile because I can feel the underlying joy. The Twenty-Third
Psalm for Caregivers doesn't try to fix
anything. It's an honest book filled with emotions that caregivers
can
relate to. The only promise the book makes is that God will be
with us
in our caregiving journey and that's a powerful promise. This is
an
important book I will read over and over and, depending on my day,
I
will find new meaning in every chapter.

The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers by Carmen Leal is a saving
grace to the caregiver community. Through the trials and determination
of many different caregiving situations, this book shows us there
is a purpose and there is peace to be found in our hearts despite
the daily trials in caring for terminally ill loved ones. I see this
book as an excellent source of comfort for caregivers. Those who are
or have been caregivers know i is difficult in so many ways. The stories
here show caregivers they are not alone; others will help, and God
is there always supporting them.

No caregiver can possibly put this book down without receiving
help and comfort from it. I certainly did! I think every caregiver
should have this book. It is easy and quick to read and has so much
to give to us. I know I will read it over and over again. It is
a little book but powerful and I know each time I read it I will
gain something from it.

The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers made me laugh and cry, but
most of all it made me thankful for the good days we have now. Above
all that love comes through in this book. This book is what all caregivers
need and it would also be a wonderful gift to give.

I was my husband's caregiver for eleven years and am now caring
for three of my four adult children who have a genetic disease.
I needed a book like this when I was caring for my husband. I
love the way scripture is woven into each chapter. The addition of
the old hymns I so love makes this book extra special. I memorized
Psalm 23 as a young girl
and have studied it over the years. The Twenty-Third Psalm for
Caregivers has given me a new perspective on this familiar psalm
and after
rereading this book I have renewed hope that the Shepherd will
provide
for my
family in every way. I look forward to the finished book and
I can't wait to recommend it to my caregiver and support groups.

I found the stories in The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers inspiring
as they show the other side of caregiving. This book is filled
with examples of the lessons one learns and the many small gifts
we receive
along the way that give us the strength to go on. The scriptures,
hymns, and quotes round out the book and make it a perfect gift
for caregivers to buy themselves
or be given by someone who cares.

I received a copy of The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers from
a caregiver friend after she had read it. I especially appreciated
the fact that she wasn't too idealistic or perfectionistic in
her accounts. Many people will find this very encouraging. But
she does,
for sure, point the way to God's grace. I have a large network
of caregiver friends and I know everyone will want one or more copies
to help them and people they know get
through their caregiving
journey.
